  • Our softest yarn, the Merino has superfine fibres that make it incredibly soft and comfortable to wear. A popular yarn weight and like all our yarns is 100% British Wool. We recommend that all knitters knit a sample tension square to gauge their tension before commencing a project. From their home within the Dartmoor National Park, our Merino ewes are lovingly raised to produce this amazing super fine fibre which is then spun locally (Launceston) to create this amazing yarn. Superfine fibres makes this a wonderful and comfortable fibre against bare skin - a revelation for many!!Each skein is approximately 100g and 175m. The yarn has a fabulous elasticity.Skeins are dyed on farm in small batches so each one is unique and there is colour and tone variance between the skeins. The Farm is set in the rolling Devon hills that sit at the foot of the Dartmoor National Park, our small family farm is home to up to 300 sheep of various breeds. Our Merinos are kept purely for their fantastic wool. We also have a local rare breed - the Whiteface Dartmoor. A family favourite and perfectly suited to the farm just a few miles from the breeds heartland , Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Teeswaters, Mashams and Dalesbred sheep are all british breeds that provide us with wonderful fibres and fleeces. HAND WASH ONLY- take care, colours may transfer.
